DESCRIPTION
In Sanskrit, the Heart Chakra is known as Anahata, which means "Unhurt, unstruck, unbeaten".
Mantra: Yam. I love...
Color: Green.
Location: Center of the spine at heart level.
Function: Compassion, empathy, love, and forgiveness. Letting things pass through without damaging you, "It's not about me, it's about them".
Balanced: A balanced heart chakra is connected to all life. It recognizes what emotions are authentic to them and which belong to others. Centered, feel worthy, and open to love.
Overactive: An overactive Heart Chakra has indiscriminate love, promiscuity, and no boundaries. They are over-tolerant to others. Co-dependant has no self-regard, and can not say no.
Blocked: A blocked Heart Chakra feels lonely, shy, and socially anxious. Suspicious, paranoid, afraid, and untrusting. Can not give or receive freely.
Anatomy: Cardiovascular, respiratory, circulatory, endocrine, and immune systems. Upper back, ribs, shoulders, arms, hands, diaphragm, and breasts.
Element: Air
Oils/Scents: Angelica, frankincense, and lavender.
Herbs: Basil, cayenne, cilantro, sage, and thyme.
Associated Deadly Sin: Envy
Foods/Drinks: Avocados, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, celery, dandelion greens, green tea, green peppers, jalapenos, and leafy greens.
TODAYS' MEDITATION:
I prefer to meditate as soon as I wake up. First, drink a nice glass of water and blow your nose. Then sit in the Sukhasana pose, which is Indian style making sure your spine is straight (Head over heart, heart over hips). We are now going to do Nadi Sodhana (opposite nostrils breathing). Take your thumb and plug your left nostril, breathe in, switch your pinky to cover your right nostril while releasing your thumb from your left nostril, breathe out, and repeat for a total of four rounds.
Next, we go to YouTube and put on our favorite guided Heart Chakra meditation. My personal favorite is called Chants for Heart Chakra Healing by Meditative Mind. If you can find it they have one for each of the seven Chakras, find all seven and save them.
TODAYS' YOGA POSES:
The very first thing I recommend is talking to your doctor to be sure that you are healthy enough for this or for any exercise regimen before you start.
The second step is to look up the exact correct ways to do each pose. I recommend a site called Yoga Journal.
Each week I will pick three poses per Chakra. Try to hold each pose as long as you can and do not forget to breathe. For today
Sukhasana with anjali mudra
Supta Virasana
Shavasana
If you want to do an entire yoga sequence I recommend YouTubing "Yoga with Adrienne". She is amazing.

WITCHES BREW

1 shot of pineapple rum
1 shot of lemon rum
1 shot of pineapple juice

Cook for about 2 hours. Add 1 can of coconut milk and cook on low until peas are tender.

Boil 9 lasagna noodles-aldente
In a bowl mix together 2-3 C chopped fresh baby spinach, 1 C shredded zucchini, 8-10 nice sized mushrooms sliced, 1 medium yellow chopped onion, 1 bulb peeled diced garlic, a handful and a half of shredded mozzarella cheese, a dash each of basil, thyme, oregano, salt, and pepper.
In another bowl mix a large container of ricotta cheese, a handful and a half of shredded mozzarella, 1/4 C grated parmesan, and a dash of basil, and garlic powder.
In a casserole dish drizzle alfredo sauce across the bottom of the dish and spread it around. Place 3 of the noodles side by side to cover the bottom of the dish. Spread all of the spinach mixture across the layer of noodles. Add another layer of three noodles across the dish. Spread the ricotta mixture across that layer of noodles. Add the last three noodles across the top. Pour Alfredo on the top layer to completely cover the noodles. Top with shredded mozzarella. Cover with foil. Bake at 325 for about 45 minutes.
SMUDGE STICK
gather and dry for about 24 hours Russian sage, lavender, and pine needles. Place them together to form a bundle. Using string start at the bottom wrapping several times to form a base, as evenly as possible weave up and back down the bundle, once again wrapping several times at the base. Knot and cut the string. For the string I prefer Jute. But you can use just about any string that burns slowly.
